Not easily. Give us more details. What are you want to do?

No, you can't have multiple standalone receivers, @mike2025. DIRECTV via Satellite receivers requires Genie 2 or Genie to act as a server and receive DIRECTV programming or respond to DVR commands. - Kesiah, DIRECTV Community Team

@DIRECTVhelp

Kesiah please verify the difference between what is technically capable and allowed vs what DirecTV has been encouraged/pushed towards.

You CAN have multiple standalone receivers with or without the Genie. It is ONLY the Genie-2 (HS17) that forbids standalone boxes.

Genie (HR34, HR44, HR54) work with HD receivers (H21 thru H25) and HDDVRs (HR20 thru HR24, and special R22). (never mind legacy setups with the last SD-only boxes that functioned on SWM but were not Whole Home DVR/MRV compatible or non-SWM boxes like D11 still on the account but separate cabling for RV/workshop so didn't interfere with each other)

@mike2025

Unfortunately per DirecTV being pushed heavily towards a all-in-one/server and client setup during AT&T's time it is more difficult to obtain and successfully activate standalone boxes. If you are an existing customer and do not have the Genie-2 (HS17) then there are still options to have standalone boxes.

What are the models of each box you have now? What exactly are you trying to accomplish with independent boxes? A bit of info on your current setup and desired outcome and we can try to give more precise guidance.

It is hoped the new owner will change course on equipment and promote customer friendly options again.
