@shannon02  they are connected to the internet via either a CCK wirelessly or DECA BB wired.

Yes, you are able to attach all receivers to the router using an Ethernet switch. You use the DIRECTV for BUSINESS application on a tablet to control the TVs.

You will need an internet connection for this.

Just curious, what are your current receiver models? I am assuming they are H25s but just wanted to clarify.

@olliep48 sorry for not mentioning that earlier. Yes, you will need something called a DECA BB to connect the H25s to the Internet.

Since the H25 can't use On Demand since there is no hard drive to buffer it there is no need to connect them to the internet which is why they don't have RJ45 ports, how they are a controlled by the business app is unknown to me.

I am currently contracted to take on a very similar project with 30 sources. The original technician installed 10 boxes on a network switcher and has app connectivity using the HDMI extender to Cat5. This works for most of what i do in the field anyway. However, over time the new owners of the building had more boxes added and the newest tech to tackle the job didnt even bother with a switch and now the client has to run all over the building to change tvs to gameday and pay per view fights. Its a massive spiderweb of CoAx and ethernet everywhere. This is a business account and should have not been treated like a residential install. So, I hope directTv has read this and maybe take a look at bad practices by technicians. Side note, not every TV has to have a box. You can eliminate half your bill if you learn video switching and the SAVI video software and hardware solutions. You can still show ESPN channels everywhere without having a box for every dang one. THink about it, how many channels of sports are people actually watching at the bar. Lets be reasonable and logical.

The owners of the building should have used an installer from the business side of things not residential. Looks like he wanted to save money. I suspect the more recent installer might not even have been from directv since directv will not work on an installation this complex, it's usually done by specialized third parties.
