@Clawter I can help you with that,

I see you have tried some troubleshooting with your existing equipment, try the following steps with our remote control to see if we can get it to sync with your Bose Sound Bar.

Let us know if this fixed it.

Let's see if we can help you program your remote, Clawter.

What model and brand of TV do you have? Are you programming a Universal remote or a genie remote?

Here is more information on how to program your remote. You can choose the type of remote you have in the drop down button.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi @Clawter, we are delighted to help.

Please keep in mind the not all devices are compatible to your Directv remote.

We suggest trying to program your remote manually for your audio device.

  • Point the remote at your Genie HD DVR, Genie Mini, or Wireless Genie Mini.
  • Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT buttons while continuing to point the remote at a Genie device. Stop when the green light at the top of the remote blinks twice.
  • Use the buttons on your Genie remote to enter the code 961.
  • Press the channel up button once.
  • Press Enter.
  • Select OK when the TV screen displays Your Remote is now setup for RF
  • Power on the device you want your remote to control.
  • Press MENU on your remote.
  • Select Settings & Help > Settings > Remote Control > Program Remote.
  • Select the name of the device you wish to control with the remote.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete programming.

Let us know if this helps.

@ATTHelp this did not work. to save you time from suggesting I read another article on your help site I can tell you that I've read them all. one thing I still don't understand, as it's not listed on any of the instructions, is when I hit mute/select the light flashes twice, THEN the first button I press after that the light flashes twice again. I continue entering the code BUT am I supposed to press the enter key at the bottom? who knows? weather I do or don't press the button (tried it both ways WITH EVERY CODE) the next button/action I choose after entering the code the light flashes red. is this good, bad, nothing at all? there is no "is your remote flashing a red light" part in any of your "articles"

I am having the same Issue with my Samsung TV, Bose Sound Bar and using the Genie remote. I had just ordered a new Genie remote, i set up the remote to my TV and then could no longer program my Bose Sound Bar to control the volume. NOTE: Previous Genie Remote worked with the Bose Surround Bar. Now when I reprogramed the previous Genie Remote it too no longer controls my Bose Surround Bar.
