pauised memory clears itself
I watch most of my programs on the same channel so if I pause it for 1.5 hours I can fast forward or rewind during that time. Unfortunately, a couple of times a day it will basically clear its memory and sets me back to the immediate time and I lose all of the memory of the shows I had paused and won't allow me to rewind past the current time. Can I stop it from whatever it's doing to kick me back to the current time.

Have you done a red button reset?

That would and should only happen if Sta Signal is interrupted or a Power Blink electrical failure or outage.

Thanks for answering and the end result would be the same. Unfortunately, there is one thing that happens that wouldn't for those problems. It literally only does it on the hour every time. A line error or a power blink wouldn't be that consistent and the reset start up screen/loading data screen doesn't show up. It just kicks me to the real time and loses all of the data. I hope this explains it better and helps.

I've had the "buffer" disappear also since I went from a single DVR box to the Genie 2/Gemini system.
Also my old DVR would save a lot more, like hours and hours, and this system indeed seems to only save 1.5 hours or so.
Progress?

1.5 hours has been the standard buffering time as far as I can remember. Sounds like it needs to be replaced if it is not rebooting correctly.

@gregeusa The buffer hasn't been removed just changed since the Genies came out, the minis take whatever tuner is available at the time it is turned on but not the buffer, if you pause or allow it to run for a bit you will be able to REW.

The issue is not if it was removed.... clearly it's shorter... but I have have it mysteriously clear some times.
I normally have to reboot my Gemini several times weekly and my Genie 2 about every other or 3rd week (and never reboot the Genie Mini).
But I knew the software problems going in, I'll keep the flawed software for the better features. My old DVR (maybe a 54, I don't remember) would keep almost 5 hours of buffer if I left it on the same channel.

Well, guess I was just luckier than you, but my experience parallels the OP.
