Pairing a RC-66 remote with TCL

Just purchased a TCL 32S331 Roku Smart TV and need to get a RC-66 remote to control the power and sound on the TV.  My receiver box is a H25/700.  I went through the code lookup and found 12434 as a code but it doesn't work.  I tried using the remote setup feature in the Directv menu but it doesn't list my TCL model.  Any other suggestions?

You’ll need to mess with all of the codes until one of them properly paires with the TCL TV. One code doesn’t mean your tv cannot be paired with the remote. Just to confirm, is it an RC66X or an RC66RX?

Rerun Remote Setup, choose Brand TCL, choose that you don’t know the TV model, move the switch on the RC66X/RC66RX to ‘TV,’ and try the codes listed. Although the process can be long, you’ll eventually find a code that satisfies the situation.

It is a RC66RX remote.

I've tried the remote setup and didn't find my TV model listed.  So when I move the switch on the remote to TV, do I just enter a code or do I need to press mute and select at the same time, then enter code?

Thanks for your help.

Press the MUTE and SELECT buttons at the same time until the light blinks two times. Then, type one of the codes. After typing, try to change the volume. If it doesn’t work, repeat these steps over again with the next codes until one works.

Nice catch. Yes, perhaps you can try choosing Dynex as the brand and see if any of those codes satisfy volume, power, and input control.

Good4u and detuch254 you all are GREAT.  I went into program remote and selected Dynex and I Don't Know Model and the Directv will now turn the TV on and off as well as control the volume.

One last question.  When the TV comes on it still wants me to select my input (which I renamed the Arc port to Cable TV) but the Directv remote won't let me select it.  I still have to use the Roku remote to select then the Directv remote will work from there.  Any tips or hints on how to get the TV to auto select the input?

Never mind.  I found out how to do this.  I'm going to post in case anyone else views this thread.  To set TCL Roku TV to turn on to a specific input:

  1. Press the Home button on you TCL remote.
  2. Scroll down to Settings.
  3. Press the right arrow button and select System.
  4. Press the right arrow button and select Power.
  5. Press the right arrow button to select Power On.
  6. Press the Right arrow button and highlight the input that you would like displayed when you power on your TV.
  7. Press ON button on the remote and a check mark should appear.
  8. To confirm changes are applied power OFF your TV then power it back ON.

I just purchased a TCL 50S551G, and need to pair it with my RC66RX remote. That model is not listed under the TCL model list. So far I have not found a code that lets the remote control TV power, although several codes seem to allow volume control.

Did you try using Dynex for the brand?
