On a newer TCL 65Q825 HDTV, RC66RX stopped controlling "mute" and VOL +/-.

On a newer TCL 65Q825 HDTV, RC66RC stopped controlling "mute" and VOL +/-.   Talked to DirecTV support and they sent new RC66RX. New remote does same thing.  On screen remote set up does not help.  5 of 5 menu codes did not work.  Tried codes 11756 and 960, they did not work.

Dear Kenneth: The link help was clear and tested.  It did not solve anything.  Presently we are using the RC66RX to control the H34 box and to power ON the 65Q825 HDTV.  However, the 65Q825's TCL Roku remote must be used for MUTE, VOL +/- and Power OFF.  The RC66RX (I tried three in all, including the new free replacement) in the past  worked just fine, but not now.  As a sidelight, my Harmony 650 Universal Remote also can not do VOL +/- on the HDTV.  How about a TCL or DirecTV update changed something to cause this issue?

I don't think DTV is providing any updates for the HR34 as that is the last receiver made that uses the old GUI. The HR34 is to slow to run the newer GUI and you should consider replacing it with an HR54 if possible.

The newer TCL TV's made a change in their remote code and the Directv RC6x remotes don't have that code. This has been discussed in many threads here, myself included. You could try a learning remote. The newer recv'r models(HR44+ HR54) which use the RC7x line of remotes have a code that the newer TCL TV's can handle.
