No signal on one tv. Other tvs are working

To have people help you you should give the model number of the DTV box and how it is connected to your TV, etc.

"No Signal" often means that the TV is set to the wrong Video INPUT. Verify that you've selected the DirecTV box video input.

I've likewise had CEC on and no issues... also wouldn't this just exhibit itself as turning on equipment, i.e. the tv would try to turn on the DTV?

Not the other way, surely.

I understand how CEC works, but how would it (on a TV) cause "no signal"....

All I can tell is the TV could turn the DirecTv unit on, or vice versa.

If anything, the DirecTV would force the TV to the right HDMI input, right?

Clearly the DirecTV box has no other HDMI to switch to, right?

So, I fail to see how it could make THIS situation worse. I can fully understand other situations...

I do prefer to understand as opposed to just being told with no explanation. Please do not take as an affront, but that opportunity to educate.

DTV has nothing to do with your TV auto switching the HDMI input if it does auto switch instead of you having to manually switch it, it is the TV that senses the voltage on the active HDMI cable.

Shannon: most DTV boxes have CEC. which they call HDMI Control.

Using this option, allows the DTV box to send volumn up and down commands to the TV via HDMI.

Also a signal on the HDMI from the DTV box can turn on the TV and also switch the TV input to the one connected to the DTV box, that sent the command.

It's more than voltage, it's commands.

I can get t.v. in another room, but the netflix is off and on.  Often cannot connect at all and sometimes disconnects part way through a show.

DTV sat has nothing to do with the internet provided Netflix.

thanks - confusion comes from the fact that my other devices can get internet in that  room - only the t.v. is an issue and only with netflix.

Sorry for thinking that since it is all part of a package i purchased that they might be related.   Clearly this is a very very serious group. Sorry for taking up your valuable time.  Fyi - t.v. has nothing to do with it.  If you noted in my question, the problem is intermittent.   

AFAIK DTV sat has nothing to do with Netflix as they are a competitor. 

I had this, had my husband reset the main box but it continued showing ‘no signal’. Checked connections, etc. Finally got it working after I hit the red button on the side of the box. Kind of a ‘duh’ to people who know what they are doing but not to me!

After you reset the main box, be sure to reset the little box by pressing the red button. This took me 20 minutes to finally figure this out.
