New Service using Genie2 with two Receivers (C61K) WIRED CONNECTIONS
I tried to sign up for new DirecTV satellite service but they will only use this equipment for wireless service. If I want to use a wired setup I would have to go with an older model dvr and receiver. This makes no sense. I have direct coax lines running to the rooms where my tv's are from where the genie2 would be sitting. They would rather not sign a new customer than have their technician make the wired connections?!?!?!? So strange...

Tell the tech to wire them, if they don't have the C61Ks send them away and reschedule. Tech love the wireless system as it is faster and they can get to the next job but since the coax is already there the time needed is close. Techs are paid a flat rate so the more jobs they get done the better for them.

I did when they came to setup on my first appointment. The tech said he would have to change the order and give me different equipment for wired service. He also said because the order shows as "wireless" its the only way the clients can connect??
Thanks for getting back to me.

The HS17 Genie2 can be used either way, it is the clients that are wired.

Yep, that's what my research told me. But unfortunately the tech that came to my home wouldn't connect the equipment using the existing wiring that was already in place.

A little confused.... what is the existing wiring, coax? He refused to use the coax connector on the C61k?
