Need code for Kenwood VR-309 receiver on RC73 remote
I have a Genie HR44/500 and have been using the RC73 remote to control the volume on my Kenwood VR-309 A/V receiver for a few years. I got a new TV today and I had to reset my RC73 remote to get it to recognize my new Samsung TV. Now I can no longer control the volume on my A/V receiver. When I press the Menu button on the remote and choose Settings, Remote Control, Pair/Program Remote, Program Audio Remote, "Kenwood" is not in the list of brands. This obviously worked before I reset the remote. I need the code and I need to know how to set the code in the RC73 remote for my A/V receiver. Thank you.

Hi, @ghindmon. We're sorry for having trouble programming your DIRECTV remote back to your Kenwood receiver. You can go this link https://www.directhd.tv/directv-remote-code-lookup/ to get the code. Also, here's how to program your Genie remote: Set up your DIRECTV remote | DIRECTV Customer Service & Support Send us a DM if you need further help. Kesiah, DIRECTV Community Specialist

The RC73 remote cannot be used to operate both a soundbar and a TV individually as it is a basic remote only meant for one source device. You'll need a Logitech Harmony remote or another similar advanced remote to operate the devices you need to control at the same time.

@DIRECTVhelp Kesiah, the list at the link you provided is a list of TV brands, it does not include A/V equipment.
@detuch254 My RC73 did operate my TV (turned it on/off) and controlled the volume on my Kenwood VR-309 A/V receiver until I had to do a reset on the remote.

@ghindmon
Interesting. Well, in any event, the software currently prohibits this.

Hello @ghindmon Please try the following steps:
-From the remote, select Menu > Settings > Remote Control > Pair/Program Remote > Program Audio Device.
-Look through the list, select Kenwood, and then scroll down to the bottom to "model not in list."
-After the remote successfully programs to the audio device, select Change Volume Lock>Use Audio Device>OK.
