Move my Genie 2 Model HS17-500 to another room

Simply put, could I move my 'tower' to another room myself.

My mom doesn't like the 'noise' it makes during the night when sleeping and she gets nervous.

Can I move that 'tower' to my kitchen t.v..

Is it that simple to do or do I need a tech?

Will I have to make any 'set-up' changes to the kitchen t.v.? If so, then I think I would be more comfortable having a tech do it.

Thank you

Hi, @luapsmail. While you can move your Genie 2 by yourself, we still recommend scheduling a professional technician appointment to take care of it for you. I'll send you a DM, so we can discuss your options further. Claudine, DIRECTV Community Specialist

You'll need to have a satellite coax cable at the kitchen location for the HS17 Server box.

Whatever coax the HS17 is connected to has to be connected to the red power pass through port on the SWM splitter to power the SWM LNB.  You will need 2 coaxes 1 from the HS17 to the splitter and one from the splitter for the mini on the TV.

If there is a place to put it outside the room you can get more coax and a f81 barrel nut to move it.

Thank you Claudine!

I'll await for your DM on scheduling an appt for a technician.
