Move Genie 2
I want to move my Genie 2 to a TV currently connected to a Genie Mini and then connect the TV that was using the Genie 2 to a Gemini. Can I do this or do I need a technician to move the equipment?

Most likely the HS17 Genie2 is powering the SWM LNB on the dish arm so whatever coax that is connected to it must be connected to the red power pass through port on the SWM splitter.

So you are not moving the Genie 2, but just moving the Genie Mini and the Gemini.
If they were already working, it will probably work well without repositioning the Genie 2.

Thanks for the comments, I was out of the country last week and am just now getting back to this. I have the Genie-2 model HR44-200 in my living room. The Genie Mini is in my bedroom. I want to obtain a Gemini from DirecTV for my living room as that TV is an older SmartTV without too many apps and has a network card issue. I was told by DirecTv that I would need to return the Genie mini if I get he Gemini, but the Genie Mini is connected to a new SmartTv and putting the Gemini on that TV defeats the purpose. I want to be able to stream on the TV in the living room where I am having network card issues and have limited apps. I hope this helps explain my situation a little better. Thanks to all!

The HR44 cannot be replaced with a Gemini as it is the main Genie DVR that sends all video, audio, and programming to the clients. You could potentially replace the HR44 with an HS17 and also get a Gemini receiver. You’d need a Gemini receiver on top of the current Genie mini because the HS17 does not get put on a TV like the HR44 (in other words, it is a server and not a receiver capable of plugging into a TV).
As a note, replacing the HR44 with another receiver results in loss of DVR recordings, as recordings are encrypted to the receiver that originally recorded them and cannot be transferred to the new receiver.
In summary, the actions you’d be making are the following:
Current: HR44, Genie mini
New: HS17, Gemini to be put on the TV that the HR44 is currently on, current Genie mini

That CSR is wrong, you don't need to return the mini and you can colocate the C71WK Gemini with the HR44, DTV will turn off the HR44 video/audio output so you will not pay an extra additional TV fee.

I have heard that the C71KW can co locate with both the HR44 and HR54, haven't personally tested this out though.

There is a post on here about someone that has colocated an HR44.

Not sure if DTV can turn off the video/audio output on an HR34 which would add an additional TV fee if it worked.

I’m wanting to relocate the HR44 to the bedroom since it is the main receiver and then put the Gemini in the living room since I was told and the brochure indicates that in order to receive the Gemini at no cost a Genie mini must be retuned, otherwise there is an equipment charge. I am not sure if I can relocate the HR44 myself without causing problems. I’m beginning to think the easier option if just to get a Firestick for my living TV. I was interested in the Gemini so I didn’t have to change inputs for my streaming.

So long as you don't move the power inserter you move the HR44 to the bedroom and return the mini for the Gemini.
