Mini genie powers off every 18 min

We just upgraded our DIRECTV equipment because we were having issues and were told that is what we needed to do.

so now we have a new contract and still have problems.

we have a genie 2 that is connected to an eero wifi extender.

we only have an issue with 1 room (which is the main mini genie (with the fancy black remote).

I did try swapping the mini genie with another room and it still was a problem with the original tv (I did not try the mini genie on the new tv).

here are things I have tried:

1. Genie 2 connected by Ethernet to eero instead of wifi

2. tv connected by Ethernet to router instead of wifi

Gemini connected by Ethernet to eero instead of wifi

4. many attempts at restart of genie 2 and mini genie


so today I got a new 4K hdmi cable and installed that. Removed power cord and Ethernet from mini genie and plugged them back in.

Tv was running at 4:42 and shut off at 5:00

The Gemini C71WK is suppose to connect to the HS17 not your home internet.  If you use a coax from the SWM splitter you need a DECA BB to remove the internet from the coax to feed the C71WK or use WiFi.  The Gemini is known for this and other things.

Ok I will go back to using wifi on the Gemini instead of the Ethernet and see how that goes.

that is how it was originally set up. I was trying anything.

That didn’t help.

i swapped the c71 box and put that by the tv closest to the genie 2.

that box has not gone off yet, but the mini genie that is now connected to our Samsung tv is the box going off every 18 min now.
