Is DirecTV streaming better than satellite?

I have had satellite for a long time. The receiver often loses connection to the AV receiver among other issues. I have been thinking about leaving DirecTV and going to streaming only. Curious about what would be lost or what would  DirecTV streaming be like.

Hi, @Jeffmotto. We appreciate your interest. With DIRECTV STREAM, you can easily stream through the DIRECTV app using your compatible device with a reliable internet connection. On the other hand, DIRECTV Satellite requires a dish with a 24-month contract agreement. Visit https://www.directv.com/compare/directv-vs-directv-stream/ Roland, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Streaming does not have the exact same channels as the satellite service, though the packages are rather similar. So check your must-have channels before making any decisions.

Depends on the dependability of your internet to go streaming-only. If internet goes out, or just too much bandwidth in use, than streaming goes with it through satellite still works.

I would look into streaming devices and any information on their reliability with your AV receiver. That way you don't switch but just end up having the same issue. You can also discuss in the forum the AV connection problem as well as other issues you have in case any other fixes or guidance may be given.
