Illuminate buttons On remote

Buttons on r2 remote stay on too short a time. Can they stay on longer?

Well my last directv remote that had illuminating buttons has crapped out. I don’t understand why they don’t make new ones?  When in the dark bedroom a light really helps to navigate the remote. I’m sure I’m not the only one who who would like a remote that lights up.  What say you Directv ???

There are backlit RC6X,7X,8X remotes made, they have a "B" in the model number like RC7XB.
