I have 4 home dvr and none of them let me record. Everything gets recorded only my genie receiver.
I have 4 home DVR and a couple of Genie mini and a genie. When I record on the Genie it records to the Genie receiver. If I'm on one of the other 4 DVR and I press record it will still record the the genie reciever and not the dvr in that room. I want to be able to record separately on each DVR. In other words All my recordings are under the Genie receiver and it's full and is only used by my wife. I won't to be able to record my own stuff on my own dvr. Even when I access through my iPhone direct tv app it only shows the recordings under the genie but not in any of the other 4 dvr rooms.

Once you brought the Genie 2 into the mix, then it wants to be the boss.... you may want to send it back with the minis

This is the equipment I have. hr24-100, hr24-100, hr24-200, hr54-500, Hr24-500, C51-100, C51-100. As of now Everything is getting recorded onto the HR54-500. And when I log in online via Roku or iPhone the only recordings that show up are from the HR54-500. It's full. When I set something to record at home from any of the 4 other ones it shows that it's recording but when I look under recordings I have to switch to the HR54-500 to see the recording. Same with online, I can record even though I'm supposedly logged in to Hr24-100 and it will show recording but when I go under recording I get this on my phone. As soon as I switch to the Hr54-500 it will show that it's there and recorded but the drive is full. The Boxes are all on the same account at the same house. They are using the same dish. They are all connected wifi and I use them to stream netflix etc... I've unplugged, reset, re connected. Talked to DTV but not very helpful. That's the equipment they set up so not sure how the genie works and how to I guess disconnect them from the DVRs. Not sure what the solution is. Thanks for all the help.

The app can only see and control the HR54 as the HR24s don't have the software to connect to it. The HR24s can't connect to WiFi unless there is another external box connected to them if there is then this maybe the problem as DTV is not made to use more then one internet connection this being the HR54.

Shannon02. That might be the case. Two questions. What do you mean by another external box connected. Second question is the issue of just wanting to record onto any of the hr24 when I'm home. I just want to have my own recordings in my office on my own dvr but it just won't record to that machine. The Family room dvr is full and it just keeps recording everything to there no matter what I do.

In order for the HR24s to use WiFi to connect to the internet they need a CCKW if you had a SWM system you only needed one if not then each one needed one, this was before the Genies came out that puts the internet on the coax.
