HR44-500 Audio Stopped Working on Samsung TV
The audio from our Directv is not working on our Samsung TV. We have our HR44-500 hooked up to our TV using composite cables. When I change it from the input for our Directv to another input, the audio works fine, both on our TV and on our Taotronic soundbar. I have tried resetting the Directv box 4-5 time, both to Default settings and normal resetting, I have the audio to Dolby, and I have tried to search on Google for an answer and nothing has worked. Anyone have any other options?

Are you sure that the cable is still connected to both? Can you try another cable?

The composite connection (yellow RCA) is only video. How are the HR44's audio outputs connected to your TV? Soundbar? And you can't get Dolby Digital audio via the analog audio (red & white RCA cables).

I'm sorry, it is component cables, not composite. The green, red, and blue cables are connected to our TV and the red and white cables from our soundbar are also connected to the tv. I have changed the Dolby Digital on and off, while changing the internal mute on the TV on and off as well, and no sound from the box. When I go to another input (laptop connected to TV), both the soundbar and TV play sound.

So how exactly is the HR44 connected to your TV? Component video (green, red, blue) plus analog audio (red/white RCA)?
Do you get audio using the TV's speakers when you select the HR44 source?

Yes the component video, plus white/red audio. I do not get audio through the TV speakers. Any other source does send out audio through both the soundbar and the tv.

Puzzling. And you did disable Dolby Digital Audio in the HR44 audio setup? Do ALL channels lack audio, or just channels that use DD5.1 audio?
