How many Boxes
I have a house in which I want to access DirectTV on 10 different TV's.
I do not need any more than 3 or 4 at the same time.
I just need to have access in 10 different locations when I am there.
DirectTV is now telling me they have set the maximum at 8, which is 2 short.
I need a solution

I do a combination of things in my house. Only 2 people, but about the same number of TV's.
So I have Genie 2, and use some Genie Minis...
To multiply the number of TVs on one "client" I take the Genie Mini and backfeed my old cable plant by a modulator on channel 3 for example. Now any TV plugged into the existing cable in the house can get that output. The Genie Mini remotes are in R mode, and will go through a few walls, so I can control the same client from several rooms.
In addition, I also modulate the output and put it on my home network with a small streaming device, and then use VLC on Windows, etc. to receive that stream in HD, so there are several computers that also serve as TV's
I also extend video to the back yard with a HDMI over coax (I have a dedicated coax to the back patio).
Lots of ways to do this.

Using DIRECTV’s HS17 server, it supports up to 8 Genie clients to be activated on the account, thus resulting in a limit of 8 TVs. If you wish to have 10 TVs at the location, you’ll need a custom setup consisting of an HR54 Genie HDDVR receiver, eight Genie clients (maximum possible), and an extra standalone HD receiver like an H24 or H25. You may also have your 10th TV be a standalone HDDVR like the HR24. DIRECTV likely wont help you with this installation and you’d need to get it done through a third-party dealer like Solid Signal.

AFAIK DTV RC1 accounting system is limited to 8 devices on the account. If the new partners are still using it.

True. However I think Solid Signal has ways around it since they support DIY systems and setups.

I did contact Solid Signal and am waiting to hear back.
