With a hammer!

Seriously the Gemini and the Genie Mini on the latest system now CANNOT turn off HDMI control (for a while the Mini could do it but the last update took that away)

Stoppit DTV! You have enough bugs and problems as it is. The updates I have gotten over the last year have not stopped the basic issues I experience every week:

Audio quits

HDMI control get flummoxed and turns things on and off wrong

video locks up when I pass it through my receiver.

Reboot and it's fixed for a few days...

According to some DTV  removed that ability with the latest update. The TV may be able to be turned off.

Why do you think it is HDMI-CEC turning it on?

Well, another post suggested a connection.  When TV come on at 3 or 4 am it's always Direct TV (even if we were watching Netflix last). When HDMI cable was unplugged TV did not come on. We have been having nighttime thunderstorms lately, possibly causing DTV to reboot.

According to some? I've traversed and documented every menu in my Genie Mini and Gemini.

Last update removed the CEC off ability from the Mini

I've only had the system for about a year, so in that time the Gemini never had it.

I cannot speak to the other hardware.
