How do you fix the error “your tv does not support this program’s content protection”?

My Samsung FrameTV died so I bought a newer model. It is 4K and HDR, just like the old model. For some reason, the DirecTV 4K box connected to it randomly decides to only show a white screen and has the error that “Your TV HDMI cable does not support this program’s content protection”. It then suggests I switch to component cables.

First, that isn’t even an option with the box. Second, the same error applies regardless of the channel and program content. Finally, it doesn’t happen all the time. Occasionally it disappears and works fine.

I am seeking a permanent solution. Any ideas?

HDCP is a finicky software, you can try a different HDMI cable or a different HDMI port on the TV.  Other then being HDCP compatible DTV has nothing to do with it.

I bought 8k rated cables on Amazon, stopped the errant message (yes, a certified 4k should work fine, the 8k ones were just a few bucks more)

There are actually electronics in the cable, and sometimes they do not "respond" properly with 4k signals.
