HISENSE COMPATIBILITY
Bought a 55" U8 Hisense TV.
OTHER TVs in the house work with the Direct TV receiver we have.
Hisense sound cuts out on almost ALL HD channels, but plays fine on ALL non-HD channels.
Sound blips in only about 5% of the time on the HD channels.
Any suggestions?
Might the receiver just be out of date? We've had it FOREVER.

I had the same issue on an older receiver that was getting the sound on HDMI
I did turn off dolby sound and that would sometimes make it come back.
In the end I got a new receiver and problems went away.

Please remove your personal info as this is a public forum visible to anyone.
This could be an HDMI connection issue between your receiver and Hisense TV. Have you tried plugging the HDMI cable into a different port on your TV (i.e. HDMI2 instead of HDMI1)? You can also try a different HDMI cable as well in case the current one is having handshake issues with the Hisense TV.

I put the personal info in there so maybe DTV could locate my account, figure out my reciever, and maybe go a bit deeper in the analysis.
I've tried EVERY basic thing there is to do. This is even the 2nd Hisense TV, so I could make sure it wasn't a bad TV.
There is a compatibility issue, and I'd like that looked into.
thx

And there is no apparent link or button to revise the prior post, even when I'm signed in.

Right but any scammer could use that information and ruin your day. I highly recommend removing it.
What basic things have you tried? Have you tried what I suggested above? As a note, this is a public forum and we are customers like you. The only person representing directv support here is the directvhelp account.

Never post your private contact information in a public forum. You've opened yourself up to all sorts of spam.
As mentioned, this is almost certainly and HDMI handshake issue. Try a different HDMI cable. Try a different HDMI INPUT on your TV.

As I mentioned, done and done. It is neither of those issues.

Receiver has been reset AND unplugged, several times.
EVERY newer TV in the house works on all channels except for this TV.
This is the 2nd Hisense tried, exact same issue on exact same channels.
Which HDMI port makes zero difference.
Tried with dolby on and off, no difference.
Tried with and without soundbar (thru TV), no difference.
This is a compatibility issue, ONLY with the Hisense Google TV, and I'm asking for suggestions on how to get around that.
Are newer receivers less likely to have this problem?

If I'm following correctly, you've tried that DirecTV box on other TVs in the house and you don't have this issue, right? If so, then it's a Hisense issue. I've not seen anyone post about this before, so it's not a common issue. Have you tried contacting Hisense support resources?

We had issue recently with our 2022 hisense uh6 stop outputting hdmi signal from Direct tv receiver on all inputs, but would show Direct TV output through non hdmi inputs. Began about a year into use and barely gets watched as a vacation home unit. All other sources (roku, firestick, bluray player) all work fine thru all hdmi inputs, and this DTV receiver and 2 others will output via hdmi on all other tvs just fine, but none of the 3 receivers will on Hisense. All other tvs are other brands. Had DTV tech and he was at a loss and never seen it happen before, but no issue on DTV end, clearly a TV issue. Tried factory resetting, tried hdmi options, tried everything- zip. Selling TV and will never buy another.
