Have two bluetooth gemini remotes control one gemini device but two different TVs
I have a new Gemini device that feeds two TVs in different rooms. I want to pair two Bluetooth remotes to control one device (which I have done) but have each remote control a different TV (power volume, etc). Is this possible? If so, how do I do this?

I know you can do this with the Genie Mini "receivers/clients" in RF mode, but will be interested to see of the Gemini remote (IR or Bluetooth modes) will do this. I have not tested fully, but as far as I can tell, you can only pair 1 BT remote with one Gemini.
My solution was to use one BT remote, and an IR repeater for the other room and use that remote in IR mode...
Another solution is a universal remote, like my SofaBaton, which is BT to a base unit, and that controls by IR. I use this so my remote can control not only the Gemini, but the volume control on the receiver.

Hi @ppalmer, it's good to know that you want to improve your entertainment experience using your remote. Let me clarify your inquiry. Since you have two different TVs in separate locations, it's recommended that each device have its own remote control paired with the device. In that sense, any one remote control can only be paired with one TV. If you need further assistance with your devices, please don't hesitate to contact us at any time. In other words, it is not possible to have two gemini remotes pair to one gemini device but each controlling a different TV set?

You may have to try it yourself to get the answer.... like I said, for Genie Minis, I indeed have 2 RF remotes that are programmed for 2 different TVs both paired to the same Genie mini.
I have one Gemini and one Genie Mini, and just 2 people but lots of TVs and I am not going to buy one per TV, so I share.

I find this information helpful, as I am new to the whole Gemini install, I didn't stop to think about BT connection will only allow one BT device. Makes sense a bit disappointing but understandable. Like your cell phone may pair more then one device, but can only use one at a time.
Ok the can I use two Gemini remotes in the same room, can it use IR as well as BT one BT and the Other IR?

No, the BT connection will allow muliple devices connected to the Gemini, but the Gemini wants them to be the same TV I believe.
Also, yes you can make one IR and one BT, but the Gemini really wants to change the IR one to BT and will pair it back off IR to BT.
I learned this from my system, 2 Gemini RC 83... I wanted to use universal remote to control system, so I forced one RC83 to unpair (BT unpair), and then it was transmitting IR, and I could use it to "teach" my universal remote (SofaBaton, and old Harmony remotes)
But as I was learning more commands, the dang thing switched back to BT. I had to force unpair several times when I was completing my "remote learning".

Ok as I wad reading the section on the rc8x and you stated the Gemini will work IR and Bluetooth, but your last sentence confused me that it would eventually change, is that change to IR or change to Bluetooth?
I don't have my second remote yet, maybe later today. I can work with one being IR and the other Bluetooth.
I received my second Amazon Fire TV remote, it is setup to configure two remotes, took 30 seconds after I found the steps searching the TV model number. Not sure the communication format Toshiba used. But would be nice.

Chiming back in just received my second Gemini remote, please disregard my previous statement, the Gemini will setup the second remote as Bluetooth took less time then my FireTV . I was totally amazed by how quickly it setup, I could walk into my kitchen on the other side of the wall, both remotes work as designed. 👍

I see my post with a link to my site was deleted... not before the intended audience got to read it.
What is the issue? Is there some rule that you cannot have links?
I don't want to retype things I have already written. I got a lame answer before about links being dangerous... baloney... there's no spyware or malware on my site...
BUT!! This site has a number trackers itself....
So, I guess I have to post text.... here is the deleted text:
Remote for the Gemini
OK, this is a challenge, since the Gemini remote (RC81V, RC82V, RC83V (82 has voice recognition RC3773702/02BR) seems to transmit RF and IR for certain commands, even though it is set for RF right now. Definitely it transmits on both for power on/off. I will research the times it does both, it kind of messed stuff up.
But now I want to program my universal remote. The wireless part of the Gemini remote is Bluetooth, so as far as I know, you cannot have more than one paired.
Universal remotes usually do IR, and can learn, but how to learn RF (of course you cannot). But I did notice there was an IR window on the Gemini. OK, so does the RC73 (changed to IR mode) control the Gemini... looks like it does.
So, I'm programming a Sofabaton universal remote now, and have gotten pretty close. I'm using an RC73 to teach the Sofabaton commands, most everything is there.
The Gemini remote is also working fine on BT, so I have 2 remotes for the family room, which is good, because the Sofabaton has enough range to work from outside, where I have another HDTV connected to my Denon receiver.
here's some info on using the remote and differences from the Genie remote: https://www.directv.com/support/article/000092831#Gemini-Remote
RC8x modes
So the Gemini really wants you to use bluetooth, and normally this is superior, but if you are using a universal remote, or IR extenders, then you may want the remote in IR mode.
A simple way to tell is try the jump ahead buttor (right arrow), and watch the leds, if blue only, the BlueTooth mode, if you see red and blue, then it is in IR mode.
Pairing:
clear pairing:
factory reset:
Note: If this remote is in IR mode, the Gemini will "notice" and prompt you to pair it (switch to Bluetooth), just ignore. Eventually it seems to pair itself.

I'm not sure if I understand everything above 100% correctly, but related to your question, I only have one follow-up: I just ordered a new Gemini box to replace my older Genie box, which sits in my living room. I have the Genie running to the living room TV, and split to a bedroom TV. I have two RF DirecTV remotes paired with the receiver so I can control from either room. Is it possible to pair two separate Gemini remotes with one box? Sounds like I might need to pair one with IR and one with Bluetooth? Or would it be possible to pair two Bluetooth remotes with one box? DirecTV says No, but I'm not sure if that's because they want you to pay the extra money for an additional box. Might anyone know the answer? They would not sell me a second remote, but you can buy them on Amazon for $40. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I don't want this upgrade to the Gemini.

Oh, I think I forgot one part. Both of my TVs are Samsung, almost identical but different sizes. So, I could pair both of them using Bluetooth, to the same Gemini box, and use the living room TV to pair both remotes since they are both Samsung the IR portion would be identical. Hope that helps answer my question.

Good to hear, and I wad mistaken when I indicated that the Gemini would only link two remotes, I have successfully paired three remotes to one Gemini box.

Yep, you can pair several remotes to the Gemini, but they all will assume the SAME TV

Greg: let me know if you think this would work. I put the Gemini in my living room. I sync up both Gemini remotes with the living room receiver via Bluetooth. Sounds like that is possible? Then, I re-sync each individual remote with its Samsung TV, living room and bedroom. Then I'm good to go? Or, would I need to do the living room via IR and the bedroom remote via Bluetooth? So, I guess my question might be, can you sync more than one Bluetooth remote with the Gemini? Or only IR?

I think when you set up the remote for the TV, it will set both. Whichever is set last is how the remote will work.
Are your TV's the same model?
Like I said earlier, the Gemini can allow the remote to be set to IR, but it will sense that the remote has BT and will eventually switch the remote mode back to BT.
Now, I have a learning remote, and it always sends IR commands to my Gemini, and it can be used anywhere around my house since it communicates to a hub, and the hub is in the room with the Gemini. (the remote communicates to the hub by wifi)
So this remote is programmed for a different TV than the DTV RC83x remotes, and will work outdoors or from any room (since my wifi coverage extends outdoors)
This has allowed me a TV in the back yard (I have an HDMI extender to the TV outside).
This is more than what you asked, but basically the "TV model" mapping is actually in the Gemini, not the remote from my testing. So you set one, you set them all.
