Genie wont turn off

I have the new Genie remote and a LE24H307 Hitachi tv in my kitchen. Volume works, mute works, but the remote won’t turn off the power for the TV. Tried standard remote programming procedure and manual, no luck. Any advice?

I apologize, I said Genie in error. We upgraded to the Gemini and that’s the remote/system I’m having an issue with. In addition to the 24” in the kitchen, I’m having a similar issue with my Bose Lifestyle 18 system. The Gemini remote will control volume but won’t turn it off. Tia

AFAIK the RC8X like the RC7X remotes are not made to turn on/off any soundbars or A/V receivers, HDMI control does that AKA HDMI-CEC.

That is indeed what I have found. You can force the RC8x to work on IR for a while, but that is the DTV stuff, not other equipment.

You have to find a way to do via the CEC, which CANNOT be turned off at the Gemini
