genie 2 lights

today, i find that the upper light on the genie is yellow, not green as it normally is. the tv reception, and the genie functions are fine, though. no loose connections, so i ran the genie reset, and the light remains yellow. what is wrong?

The issue that the OP is facing is most definitely related to the 99W satellite outage, causing the HS17 to show an amber/yellow light due to inadequate satellite signal on one of the satellites. Now that the 99W satellite has been repositioned and service has been restored, a quick red button reset of the HS17 on the OP’s side should now show a green light since the signal is good.

Yellow usually means that the HS17 is disconnected from the dish, or there is perhaps a poor/unreliable coaxial connection. Have you made any changes recently to impact the color? Are you having any issues with your current setup?

no changes were made, and coaz connections are all secure. not having any issues with four tvs all connected to directv with a 4k receiver, and three mini receivers. thank you.

you can go into the info screens and see if anything looks out of kilter, and of course you can dial in the signal channels.

go to my web site, I have listed out the menus, and you can see which menu tells you about connections:

in case the forum police remove the link above (as they have done before), email me greg@elmassian.com ....

My post was deleted...  UPDATE, I was violating the forum guidelines.

No personal information, no 3rd party web sites. A six year old can find out who I am, where I live, etc, but the agreement protects DirecTV. I get it, it is their forum.

So in the future I will not post links, although other posts indicating other vendors' web sites and products really do violate the agreement.

So I guess I can NAME a site, just not link to it? What do the police say?
