Gemini Restarts Sony Television When First Turned On
Every time I start the television the picture comes on and momentarily the television will reboot. I have tested this with two different Sony televisions. Is there anyone else having this problem?

None of these suggestions helped. Any other suggestions? As mentioned above, this is not just happening on one of my Sony televisions - it is also happening on a brand-new Sony TV. WIthout fail, every time I turn on either TV, it reboots about 15 - 20 seconds later after which time everything works fine.

The Gemini is causing this same problem with my Samsung TV. It reboots at least 6-10 times before settling down. I tried another Gemini and have the same issue. I did not have any issues with my previous HD client.
The sound also drops from time to time. Really annoying.
p.s. The new remote (Edited per community guidelines).

Gemini has HDMI control (CEC) on all the time, you cannot turn it off... really dumb.... you can turn it off on the Genie Mini

it's been a while, but I think that turning off the Bravia Sync Control on the Sony solved the problem.

@cheshirecb THANK YOU! Thank you so much. This helped. I just got an A95L and the load up time takes 53 seconds with the gemini air. I tried the older mode, the osprey box, and it is similar.
I turned off the Bravia Sync Control. However, now when I turn on the tv, the tv turns to the last channel, but suddenly the tv jumps to a different hdmi input. All I need to do is use the sony remote to turn back to the directv hdmi input which takes only a couple of seconds. However, it is still annoying, especially for my senior parents who would like to simplify the on and off process.
Any suggestions to help with the sony tv not jumping to a different input after sync control is turned off? Thanks for your time.

Check to see if the TV has a setting to select the default HDMI port.

thanks Shannon, I could not find that setting, but the TV automatically find DIRECTV when I change the HDMI port. Note that the genie box did not have this issue. If you come up with any more ideas, I appreciate any help I can get

Hi Shannon, thanks so much for the response. The default setting is last hdmi used. The tv turns on to the last hdmi used, which is the tv input hdmi (for e.g. hdmi 3), but it always jumps to 4 after a few seconds. This isn't much of a problem as I just need to press "tv input" on my sony tv to go back to the directv hdmi input.
It can be awfully confusing though to my parents who just want to use one directv controller and don't have any understanding about hdmi inputs :). Regardless, I'm very happy that the gemini air doesn't restart anymore after turning off bravia sync control.

Also have a Sony A95l. The Gemini Air is in the HDMI4 slot (as directed during setup). I have two issues I need help with: 1) the DTV remote can control the TV only after turning the unit on with the Sony remote. Bravia sync is turned off to keep the Gemini from rebooting all the time. How can I have this set up so I only need the DTV remote for turning the TV on? 2) How do I enable 4k for the Gemini Air with this TV? The TV is set to “enhanced” and 4k for the HDMI4 input, but none of the apps show me 4k programming. In the summary description for each show, I only see “HD” listed. I thought the Gemini Air would allow 4k. Can anyone help? Thank you!

AFAIK the Gemini Air is for the DTV via internet AKA DTV streaming service so posting in their forum may get better results.
