Gemini connection to AV Receiver / TV
I just upgraded from a mini Genie to a Gemini. My previous configuration had my smart TV and my Genie connected to my Denon AVR-S650H receiver. In order to set up the Gemini, I needed to directly connect the Gemini to the TV. Now that it's set up, is there a way to connect the Gemini to the receiver rather than directly to the TV and still maintain all the Gemini functions?

AFAIK the Gemini mini client works just like a mini client so it should have worked connected to your receiver.

Thanks for your feedback, but I connected it to the receiver as I had the Genie, and only got audio not video on my TV.

Get a high quality 4k or better HDMI cable
I have a Samsung, a Gemini, and a Denon receiver.Works fine.

Tried all of the above. I called support. They told me that the Gemini is not supported by the Denon.
That sounds weird to me, but I can’t fix it.
appreciate any feedback.

So, you cannot get a picture, or you cannot control the sound? What is the specific problem when you connect the tv > receiver > Gemini...

Does your Denon have optical inputs? The Gemini has optical output.

he said he did not get video.... (audio worked)
so it's an hdmi problem... right? (not the optical audio)

He tried HDMI to the Denon no picture, to TV ok, he wants to connect the Gemini to the denon for surround sound so if it has optical inputs.

Messed with the Sony inputs.
somehow got it working. I wish I could say exactly what I did.
I just stumbled on it somehow.
sorry. I know that’s not much help.

No problem, good thing you kept going. No reason it should have not worked.
Again, I had weird results with older non-4k HDMI cable, went away with newer cable (got 8k certified one, cheap from Amazon)

On the Sony Setting the (port)- HDMI settings to Enhanced should have fixed your issue. as you discovered.

Even though Directv doesn't support A/V receivers, they were kind enough to work with me to get the problem resolved. Works great now.

I'm confused following this string. I have a Gemini device, a Samsung TV and a denon receiver with does not produce sound. My previous setup was a genie, samsung tv and Denon receiver and the audio receiver was connected to my arc hdmi slot on the Samsung.
Am I to connect the Gemini directly to the denon receiver?

I have same setup, works fine.
Put Gemini HDMI to Denon, Denon to TV. Get 4k cables.
In this configuration sometimes the sound from the Gemini does not decode through the Denon, try changing inputs.
Change the denon input to a dvd.., then change the input back to the Gemini... normally that kickstarts the audio.
Happens to me several times a week.
Also going from channel 360 to 361 or 362 usually does the trick. What model Denon? I have X3800.
