From Samsung to Onn ROKU TV

How is it connected to your Samsung TV?

You should be able to connect it the same way to your new Roku TV. 

Unplug the HDMI cable from the back/side of the old TV then plug it into the same HDMI port on the new TV, then reprogram the DTV remote to the new TV.

What I’m running into is the ONN TV I got isn’t listed in the TV code list, not under the name “ONN”. I don’t know what code to use after connecting power and HDMI.

only available this year, the TV's are actually made by Roku, so you will need a learning remote. I'm sure they are not in the database.

The Samsung is connected by HDMI. The problem is, if we use the TV with DirecTV, we have to have a code to get the remote to work. I understand that there are a couple of brands that actually manufacture the ONN TVs for WalMart. It's that code mess that is keeping us from even trying until we have the right one. Can anyone help with that?

We would like to continue with D-TV, possibly months from now moving to streaming services...  Meanwhile, it is what it is. I hope someone knows the answer. There have to be others of us out there who need to know. And thanks!

There's probably no simple way, since the TV is new, and only made by Roku (they actually manufacture it, it is not rebranded Hisense or TCL)

I bought a learning remote so I can "learn" any remote, but then you have to program the remote for the DTV also, and that is very tricky.

I think you are in "multiple remote hell".
