Dvr vs. Power Outage

I'm just wondering if the scheduled programs on the dvr will record if the power is out? We're scheduled for maintenance the same day as a lot of recordings. Just wanted to know if we can expect to see them recorded when the power comes back on.

Thanks and I can't believe this isn't addressed already somewhere...

No, if the power is actually out, the DVR can't do anything. It will be completely dead until the power comes back on.

Yes, it's basically a computer with a disk drive. No power means it can do nothing.

Very old thread, but I have a related question. As expected, dvr did not record during outage, but the recordings do show up in the library of my ipad app, the full episodes.  Is there a way to get them onto my dvr?
