DirecTV TCP/IP Control...documentation still called "SHEF"???

I've been doing a web search on SHEF, and the LATEST messages I've found are from 2011...  :(

Did the documentation get a new moniker?

Trying to find out if I can tell a receiver to directly display a particular setup page, but honestly wouldn't mind just having the current document on hand for general development reasons...

Many thanks!

No, it's not possible to make a DIRECTV receiver display a setup page over the internet. What setup page do you want it to show? And what is the receiver model?

SHEF allows you to generate control codes, but unless "display setup page" is one of the regular directv controls (I am pretty sure it isn't) then nothing will do what you are trying to do.

detuch254:

Not trying to to anything over the "Internet".  I have a room full of H24's that feed displays that cannot be viewed from *inside* the room, and I have no list of "box XX is connected to display YY".  I was hoping to somehow get them all to display the setup page showing their IP addresses, and there's no direct button sequence I can punch in on the front panel to do that...that I'm aware of.  Looking for other possibilities and had hoped there would be a SHEF command to make that page appear.  :(

Would still love to know where a current copy of the SHEF document is to have handy for other projects...

I called them internet control signals because that's something people will understand.

I don't  believe there is any way of getting to a screen showing the IP addresses.

Assuming they are connected to a router you could look at the router info screen and then remove the receivers one at a time and see which one disappears.

TB - thanks for the info.  Plus - it wasn't you that said "Internet" - it was detuch254.  :)

@DIRECTVhelp - I have NO IDEA what icons you're talking about.  "(It's the chat icon next to the bill icon in the upper right corner on the Forums)"  Neither of those appear on my web page...

Hey Chip - did a google search for DirecTV H26K SHEF and wound up here. Did this thread lead you to any new documentation?
