DirecTV doesn’t have my TV brand listed
I’m trying to program my brand new remote to my TV (My TV’s brand is “ONN”) but when I get to the part where I select a TV brand to program the remote to, and I try to search for the brand nothing comes up. Is there a brand similar? Or can I bypass this?

I think in the past you could look for RCA or Durabrand and those brands would work. You’ll just have to mess around with the codes for both until one works. If you see a list asking for the TV model, just choose ‘I don’t know.’ There’s a whole thread about this already.

Yes Durabrand (try first) or RCA will usually work as brand for Onn but may take a few tries. Or you can try manually entering 11756. To manually enter press mute and select together until light double blinks. Enter code, light should double blink again to show code accepted.

When I use Durabrand the volume works until I hit the “it worked” button. Sigh. I’ve tried exiting out, trying different codes. Canceling, trying more codes. Nothing has worked.
