DirectTV in Nursing Home
Does anyone know about an extremely limited cable tv services that is offer to nursing homes in the Oklahoma City area? I need to speak to the company that installed the service to my mom's room. There is not cable box - everything is run through coax lines to each room. Only 40 or so stations are offered and many appear to not be digital but analog. Often times, the ABC affiliate has picture only - no sound. This service is free to the residents, but as you know - you get what you pay for! I'm sure the nursing home pays something but they went to this plan recently because its so much cheaper. The main issue is, the company locked my mom's tv and I can't change the input to even recognize anything other than their cable line. We even took the tv to my brothers to check it on his cable and his antenna but nothing works. It's frustrating and a puzzle to us as to why they locked the tv (like a hotel or hospital has locks). They also took her remote and gave her one that works for their system. Any ideas?

I should add - I know this is a DirectTV service plan. Or was told by the nursing home that it is.

Most likely this is a MDU (Multi Dwelling Unit) and DTV doesn't have anything to do with it so you have to contact the MDU that has the service contract. The facility should be able to give you their info.

I realize it is a Multi Unit Dwelling - but the former maintenance man said the service is provided by DirectTV. He is the only onsite person who had contact with the installers or the company phone number. I have spoken to the administrator, the new maintenance man and several employees. They know nothing! I have also attempted to call the company that manages and owns this and several others nursing homes. I have not been able to speak to anyone. I have also called DirectTV but they always want the account number for the tv service. Of course, that is not available because my mom doesn't pay for the service. I just want her television restored - reset - so that we can use an indoor antenna in her room. She will get more channels and have a better connection. I shouldn't have to buy a new tv for that to happen.

DTV doesn't operate MDUs, they only install in single apartments or condos.

Call DIRECTV for Business (number in my greeting below) and tell the agent that you are wanting to know the MDU dealer for your property. They should be able to provide you with this information, granted that you give them the property name, property address, and possibly your nursing home unit number if necessary.
They may not be able to work on the account, but they will provide you with the MDU dealer info like the name of the dealership and their technical support phone number.
I'm puzzled why the nursing home property manager can't just tell you the information about the MDU dealer.
