My direct tv sat service quit working a while back & Im not dealing with it. Im still paying for it so I plugged in the firestick & downloaded the app, now I stream through my wifi. Im getting a ton of recorded shows stacked up because I CAN NOT figgure out how to delete them. I have exhausted all internet searches. Please help before I take a bat to it.

Good evening, @kgennett. We're sorry for the trouble with your DIRECTV Satellite service. Deletion of the recordings can only be done directly through the box. If you need further assistance, we also have a specialist ready to help. Sending you a DM now. Rizza, DIRECTV Community Team

Recordings only may be deleted from the boxes. So time to actually deal with the problem instead of ignoring it.
You can post the details of the issue (symptoms, error messages, model of boxes, etc.) for other experienced users to try and guide you to a solution. Something you can try before calling customer support.
Best to do something productive, otherwise taking a bat to it only means you are out all the money (service, non-return fees of good condition equipment, early cancellation fee, etc.).

I have more money than patience for dealing with automated CS bots & hour long phone calls where I explain the same thing 5 times to every real person your able to finally get just to make 4 hour window appointment, taking a bat to it and just not watching tv at all would probably have a calming effect. anyway someone is coming Monday. maybe it will be in a pile in the driveway maybe not, the suspense is killing me......

If you ever change your mind, this forum can be a good resources to avoid the traditional customer support. Hopefully with AT&T leaving, DirecTV can get back to rational tech support instead of so script-heavy.
That being said, more money than patience and taking a bat to your equipment shouldn't be the go-to. At least try (within reason) to solve a problem. If those are the first instinct than sounds like get out and find a way to relax as that is wound too tight.
