Cabling
I will be installing in a new Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) home. Due to steel roof and solar I want a ground pole mounted antenna. I have a clear view of the southern sky from the ground. Due to the ICF walls, I want to install a conduit for the wiring from the antenna into the home.
1. What size of conduit will be required?
2. Do I need to install the pole or will DirectTV? Some years ago I had DISH at another home and they installed the pole.
3. Will DirectTV come do their wiring while still under construction?
4. I want each TV (3) to be able to individually select their programming. Will this require a hard wired connection between the tuner and the TV or is there some sort of wireless connection now available?
5. If a hard wired connection is required, what kind of cabling do I need to run from each TV to a central location where the antenna wire will terminate?
6. Since I am really not knowledgeable about all this stuff, some sort of wiring diagram that shows all the components and how they are connected, with the required type of cabling, would be helpful. How/where can I obtain this?

DTV will not pre wire anything. DTV generally runs the coax from the dish to the power panel to ground it then into the house 1/2" conduit should be fine for 1 RG6 solid copper core coax cable. DTV does have wireless mini clients that connect to the TVs but for wired you need an RG6 solid copper core coax from a central location to each TV. DTV will provide the pole. If it is a flat steel roof DTV can use a sled mount.

Hi u/BMW61, Rest assured, we'll take care of all aspects related to the conduit and pole installation to set up your service. Our adept technicians will conduct a thorough analysis of the situation, taking into account your request and the dish location, to ensure that everything is set up in a proper and efficient manner.
Notably, our service eliminates the need to create additional wired connections for individual programming on each TV. Simply request a client for each TV to access the desired level of individuality.
Modern Single Wire Multiswitch setups require a single RG6 solid-copper core cable feed from the dish location to your wiring closet. Similarly, each room with DirecTV equipment requires one RG6 solid-copper core cable from the wiring closet. Trust us to provide you with a seamless and hassle-free experience.
Please check the connection diagram here.

That is an old wiring diagram, DTV no longer uses SWM modules (box shown where the dish coax first goes into) DTV is only installing the HS17 Genie2 that has the WVB and power inserter built in to connect the C61W mini or the newer C71WK Gemini.

DIRECTVhelp,
Thank you for your response.
You indicate DIRECTV will take care of the conduit. I think you are missing my point. I want to put the conduit in before the walls are poured. What size of conduit will be required?
As for our response concerning connections, I am confused. In one paragraph you state "our service eliminates the need to create additional wired connections for individual programming on each TV. " In the paragraph after that you state "each room with DirecTV equipment requires one RG6 solid-copper core cable from the wiring closet." Which is it? Do I need RG6 solid-copper to each TV or not?
I am assuming you might be talking about 2 different system options, but I'm not sure. If this is the case, which system option is the least trouble free?
In addition, neither of the wiring diagrams you provided show where the TV is in the system and how the signal gets to the TV. Please help me understand.

TVs are connected to the minis with an HDMI cable. We don't know if the WiFi will be able to penetrate concrete walls or how many. The WiFi setup DTV uses has a free air range of 80'. I think coax would be better. 1/2" conduit will be fine for the 1 coax run to each TV from a central location.

shannon02,
Only the exterior walls are concrete; interior walls are standard 2x4 framing so I'm not sure why there is a concern on the WiFi. Are you suggesting that with exterior concrete walls it will interfere with WiFi signals inside the structure? What would cause this interference?
As for the conduit, in my original post I indicated I would need conduit from the antenna into the home. Why would I need conduit once I get into the home?

The RG-6 cable size is standard, allowing for use with standard conduit sizes. We have two receiver options for your TV: the Genie Mini and the Genie Mini Wireless. Both services provide excellent performance. As shannon02 mentioned, the Genie Mini is connected to your TV using an HDMI cable. If you have any inquiries, DIRECTV is here to help you. I just assumed that the interior walls where also ICF as they are now able to print walls/whole homes in place plus I hadn't researched ICF to see if they used rebar or metal mesh in forming it.
