Arcam receiver and RC73
Does anyone know how to pair Arcam AVR31 receiver and RC73 remote? Arcam is not in Directv database, and none to the Google lookup codes listed will work. A few years ago I was able to get partial functionality, (volume control only), but now nothing works. Spent hours on phone with tech support to no avail.

Arcam is an off-brand model and is thus not compatible with t the DIRECTV remotes. You can buy a universal remote, such as a Harmony remote, which would be able to control the Arcam and directv receiver at the same time.

Thanks. I already have a Harmony Elite, which I love, but my wife hates it. I wish I could remember how I got the old RC73 to work, but I can't. I'm sure one of the codes I found via Google used to work. May try to program an old RC66 with the codes I found.

Already found and tried all linked codes with no luck. Google turned up the same info.

Tried an RC66 remote and found a code that will control power in AV1 mode only, but will not control volume even after entering 993 volume lock code. Cannot understand what is going on. My old RC73 was able to do volume but not power. Supposedly the RC73 should control sound but not power according to Solid Signal.

I also have this same issue. My RC73’s all used to control my arcam’s volume, now they don’t. Even had a directv tech come out, but he couldn’t get it to work either (the AVR models are all listed in settings under Harmon Kardon). I have one old rc73 that still works, but it’s worn out and not usable for everyday use. Very very frustrating. Ridiculous to need one control to change channels and a different one to adjust volume. A major fail on Directv’s part.

It should be a learning remote, only a few bucks more to make.
