Any idea to turn off HDMI control (CEC) on Gemini
My Gemini indicates that HDMI control is on, but I cannot find a way to turn it off.
There are several posts by the top ranked experts here that CEC can cause issues, and I am interested in turning it off on my Gemini.
Anyone know or succeed on this?

I think this has been asked several times on the forum. If there is a way to turn HDMI Control off in a Gemini, please let the community know. I found where it is indicated "ON" but that menu is status only, no menu entry (Like the Genie Mini has) to change it.
So this is not just my issue, and it would help the entire community to know if this is possible.
If it is not, then perhaps the "common knowledge" that CEC is problematic should be reviewed.

Thank you for the details, Greg. The ability to use this feature depends on the TV. CEC turns on BLE mode to your TV to control the volume. You should be able to turn it off by pressing OK. If this doesn't work, it might mean that the TV is not supported. We'll keep researching on this. Jhoan, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Uhh... you are not quite getting what I am asking.
I can turn off CEC on my TV, but how to disable it on the Gemini? You can turn off on a Genie Mini, but that menu item is missing on a Gemini...
I'm not having severe problems, but my Gemini is plugged into a receiver, and I don't want the DTV system sending ANY CEC commands... and this opinion about not wanting CEC has been echoed by several of the experts here on the forum many times.

I did "go" the the PM, but it's like a chat session with no one else there. Also, AGAIN, this is a simple question. If there is a way to turn off CEC/HDMI control in the Gemini, please share.
On the Mini, it is under: settings .... display settings .... video..... HDMI Control

Nope, not an option and no further response. It causes issues, and it's funny that it is often called out as an issue with systems not turning on correctly.

Greg, HDMI Control can only be manually enabled and disabled on the following receivers: H24, H25, HR24, Genie and Genie Mini. We understand this can cause issues, and we'd like to investigate further. So let's meet in a PM to gather more details about it. Erika, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Ericka - I have a receiver in line with my TV and don't want it to be powered on every time I turn on the Gemini - how do I stop this from happening without the option being in the menu?

Erika, I'm not trying to be a troublemaker, but:
1. It's already established this option is not on the Gemini
2. It's already established that HDMI control can cause issues
So, why do you need more details? You have all the details and have ADMITTED it is not available on the Gemini.
Please take your energy and get DTV to put the option into the Gemini, nothing more to be said publicly or privately.
I'm at a loss why you even suggested to get a PM with me, it just wastes my time, and focuses on the fact this is a feature lacking in the Gemini.

@gregeusa, we apologize for the frustration you've experienced while trying to turn off the HDMI control, and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We have forwarded your suggestion to the appropriate team for this feature to be available on the Gemini, so they can review it and determine the next steps. DIRECTV thanks you for your interest in providing new ideas. Daniel, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Greg I feel your pain. I got the same problem. First I swapped out my Genie then was persuaded to get a Gemini with a two year contract for a equipment upgrade. I got rid of my pink screen issue but the HDMI disconnects keeps happening. I even purchased a new 65” TV but to no avail. But I was getting the disconnects on my other TVs which the CEC option was available. Seems like that fixed the TVs with the Genie. And yes I am baffled that I’m posting this ten months later and the problem has not been resolved.

AFAIK DTV has removed the option to turn off HDMI control on all of their Genie line with the latest update so I doubt there will be any fix. You should still be able to turn it off on your TV, audio gear.

So you’re saying by disabling my Anynet plus CEC feature on my Samsung S90D should work with no effects to my S90Ds performance?
