WORST COMPANY EVER.

AT&T/DirectTV is the worst company I have ever been a customer with. My bill drastically changed and when questioned I was told "I was lied to by a third party provider who set up my account." Unbeknownst to end customers, DirectTV can direct you to third parties to set up your account and then not take any responsibility for their misrepresentations. Instead of taking responsibility for the misrepresentation of their partner, AT&T/DirectTV told me the best they could do was "credit my account $25". It is apparently on end customers to ask whether the person representing themselves as AT&T/DirectTV employee actually is or not which is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. I paid a cancellation fee rather than stay their customer.

I will NEVER use AT&T/DirectTV again and will make it my mission to make sure everyone knows that this company operates in bad faith and is an absolutely horrible company.

We here always frown upon setting up a directv account with a third-party like Costco. Unless it is set up with a third-party authorized DIRECTV dealer like Solid Signal, your best bet is going through DIRECTV for any residential accounts. One bad experience is definitely a pain, but isn’t enough to tell others that directv will be a horrible experience for everyone.

If you have any billing questions you can call DIRECTV (number in my greeting below) and say ‘billing’ to the robot. You are lucky to have even gotten a $25 credit, as DIRECTV rarely gives anything these days as they are losing a lot of money as more people cut the cord.

I called DirectTV directly using the phone number that is listed on their website. I was unknowingly transferred to a third party when I selected the option to set up my account.

I didnt even know I spoke to a third party until I called to dispute my increase - a year later.

The bigger issue is that AT&T is transferring customers to third parties and then allowing such third parties to not only represent themselves as DirectTV but misrepresent DirectTV contracting - which they then do not have to take no responsibility for.

What number did you call?  I didn't think they transferred new account calls to a third party.
