why can't i stream nba league pass or watch on nba.com/watch while i choose directv as my provider?

i went to nba.com/watch to watch league pass. choose directv as my provider and i still see that i have to pay for subscription so i chatted w/ their support they said it's on directv side so i went to dtv support they said i should be able to view games on my dtv app using watch now feature even if it's preseason i can watch the games on my TV (nba league pass/preseason) why can't i watch on nba.com league pass nor can i watch on my directv Ap?

Whoever told you preseason games were available through NBA league pass was wrong. NBA league pass is regular season games only.

I’m able to watch preseason on Tv so I figured I would be able to stream

This happens to me every year, including this year. It's REALLY annoying. Usually I call DirecTV and have the confused rep remove League Pass and then add it back, and that does it. Last year it magically fixed itself. This year I'm going to wait until the next billing cycle and see if it kicks in then. Good luck everybody.

I'm having a similar issue and the NBA technical support team has been "working" on it for the better part of 3 weeks.  I have the NBA League Pass subscription through DirecTV and have for the past 5 years.  I am able to watch the games through DirecTV (of course), through the NBA app on my iPhone (using the TV provider login), through the NBA.COM website (using TV provider login), through my ROKU TV (using the TV provider login) but NOT through my Apple TV (using the TV provider login).  I login successfully but it tells me I don't have an NBA League Pass subscription and gives me the option to purchase it.  I've done ALL the suggested "fixes" as requested by NBA support:  1) disable single login within the settings of the Apple TV and then use the generated code to authenticate through the NBA app TV PROVIDER login page 2) update Apple TV software to the newest available 3) delete the NBA app, power off the Apple TV and boot back up after 1 minute 4) Re-install the NBA app and it "should" work....it does NOT work.  Interesting side note.  The TV Provider login shows DIRECTV for all of the working sources (NBA.COM, ROKU & iOS app) however on the Apple TV provider after logging in successfully, it shows DIRECTV STREAM.  When selecting the TV Provider it says DIRECTV, but after logging in successfully, it shows DIRECTV STREAM.  The work-around for this issue is to airplay the games from my phone to the Apple TV (since that is now an option this year) but this is a temporary work-around and not a solution to my problem.  Anyone else having this issue...I can't be the only one.

I have the exact same issue.  Other devices other than Apple TV, such as a SONY TV and Nvidia were working until recently…now nothing works…I have the same issue where the login says DIRECTV STREAM. Someone from the NBA app says it is a known issue and they are working on it, but that’s been three weeks.  What a cluster and a rip off.

We are having the same issue.  Worked fine the last few days and now not today! We have had issues like this with the MLB package too.  When calling, Directv says its an NBA network issue, the call them and they say its a directv issue.  So frustrating!

Not even sure how to escalate the issue but the expectation is that streaming is part of the package that we all spend a lot of money on. It’s funny because today I got an email “Stream More Games with DIRECTV”….yeah right!

Oh my god, I have the exact same problem not being able to stream League Pass games only on my Apple TV. And the main reason I want to stream it there is the ability to scrub to the exact moment in the game I want (were I to get disconnected or whatever). Why is this happening? It's always worked fine every other year (with little hiccups here and there).

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!

Same problem where.  Just talked to them Saturday for 30 min “they are working on it” pay full price and i can watch on an iPad or iPhone but not my main tv 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️If i didn’t  need DIRECTV to watch my local NBA game would have left while back 🙄 and I have been with them for 20 + year

It must be closer to coming back, because on my Apple TV it shows Direct TV now instead of Direct TV Stream when I sign in!

As Ruudajax mentioned above, the TV PROVIDER login now shows DIRECTV instead of DIRECTV STREAM. It’s still not authenticating correctly, but good to see something is happening on the back end since this issue has been ongoing since opening night (Oct 19th). Unbelievable.

What I really love is that I get the pop up on my Apple TV that there is a close game and to tune in…yeah right!
