The price is too high
I would like to become a customer for directtv as it is a good provider, but the price is just too high. All the add on fees is outrageous. I know people who have directtv who pay way over what the directtv price says on the website.

Hi, @expiredwalnut. We'd love you to be part of the family. Throughout the year we are focused on keeping programming costs low, and periodically have to update pricing in accordance with the rising costs of delivering content. Well I currently pay about 75 each month. There unfortunately isn't anything lower with you guys, but I will definitely keep an eye out for if you guys can give me a rate around there.

Pricing on website is the intro discount, not regular cost. Also that advertised price does not include receiver services or TV fees unless specifically stated. Not everybody activates the same amount of service so there is not one overall price.
People you know are most likely well outside their intro offer. Depending how old their account is they may have grandfathered options or billing model. Regardless, it has absolutely no affect on your pricing.
This is a public forum of other customers. For your pricing, build it on the website or call DirecTV. Just make sure to read the order confirmation before you are installed and activated.

The only way to get that low is to have a single TV on the Family plan, which is not part of the intro offers as is a special alternative for existing customers who usually only go to it to save costs for a few months or their main (or only) reason to have DirecTV is that it is the only way to get locals where they live.
Sorry satellite TV is not that cheap. You can compare again once your current provider catches up in costs (since all providers go up over the years as the networks charge them more when they renegotiate their carriage agreements).

If you are looking for a cheaper service You could always try an Over the Air Antenna if you are able to pick up a signal in your area or if you have internet you could stream a lot of different services for free. But if you want Directv at a lower cost and you have access to the internet and Smart Devices(Roku, Fire Stick, etc..) you could always get Directv Stream bring your own device it has no extra fees and no contracts. Just make sure you do not get the Directv Via Internet as that has fees and a contract.

I wonder if the OP thought if they made a random post on a public site it would magically change the pricing they get.
