New DirecTV Internet online account

Is my new DirecTV Internet online account supposed to be linked to my AT&T wireless online account?  Or should it me a totally separate account?

It should be separate. AT&T sold off their part in DirecTV so they are separate companies once again. Though some stuff on the back end is still being separated/transferred.

Make sure you have a different email for the logins just in case. That may be an issue carried over from back when AT&T first sold off 30% and moved away from the unified logins.

(That is for all TV services with DirecTV in the name)

Wow, so this is happening to me. I have two ATT accounts-one for residential, one for my business. We also have Business Directv, which just started online accounts-bout time...However mine too will not let me create an account for Directv because it keeps going to my ATT account. I have a message into my support person, and waiting. You would think this would be something they have a solution for by now. I tried every different way to change the ID/password for Directv, but it keeps going back to ATT. Even the solutions they have online say change it, but takes you directly back to ATT. I'll let you all know if they have a better way.
