MyFree Directv
Hello, canceled DIRECTV a few years ago and just saw there’s a new free version. I see that I can stream it online but I’m wondering if it will work with my old satellite dish and receiver and just wondering if I can do it that way because I don’t have internet where it’s set-up. Thanks

Unfortunately, no, @nointernetguy906. MyFree DIRECTV requires internet, as the only way you can watch it is either by downloading the DIRECTV App or accessing it online at www.directv.com Visit MyFree DIRECTV FAQ | DIRECTV Support to learn more. John, DIRECTV Community Team

AFAIK that is a streaming only service that uses the internet.

The "MyFree DirecTV" is internet-only. It is not a replacement for a paid service.
The old receiver you should recycle as DirecTV hasn't permitted reactivation of boxes in years. And guessing that was non-returnable as you would have gotten a non-return fee (NRF) long ago.
If the dish is their current MPEG-4/SD and HD capable one, then you could use it if you ever got the satellite service again as that you own like most everything else. Only the receiver/client boxes are DirecTV property that get returned upon canceling (or recycled if no longer a model they want back).
