MAX Sign-In

I subscribe to HBO through DirecTV. When MAX replaced HBOMAX I downloaded the new app. My info from the HBOMAX app was still active. I was not required to sign in and was able to use the new app with no problems. On June 7 I was asked to sign in. For the past two weeks I have been unable to sign in and access the MAX app. I have tried signing in on various devices that include a web browser, an Apple TV, an iPhone and an iPad. Each time I try to sign in with my provider and use my DirecTV login info I get an error message that says "Something went wrong. Try again." I have gone through all the troubleshooting guides posted on both the DirecTV and MAX websites.  Additionally, I have placed several calls totaling close to 7 hours to both companies customer service departments to resolve this issue. First, MAX told me the problem was on DirecTV's end; then DirecTV told me the problem was on MAX's end. My last call to MAX was almost a week ago. I spent over 1 hour and talked to 2 customer service reps. Finally the 2nd rep told me she was creating a case file and sending it to their advanced tech department. She also said they would contact me via email. It's been 6 days and I haven't heard from them.

One thing I have noticed is that when MAX sends me to a login page, there is an AT&T logo on it.  Every other service I subscribe to through DirecTV and stream on other devices (ESPN, Fox Sports, Sundance TV, etc.) sends me to a login page that has a DirecTV

logo. At any rate, this has evolved past the point of infuriating. Is there anyone at your company who knows how to solve this?

This is a public forum of other customers, we have no association with DIRECTV at all. The issue you are having is most likely an issue with the authentication used to satisfy login for MAX. In other words, MAX is having an issue verifying your authentication with DIRECTV and thus logs you out periodically. Therefore, MAX is responsible and DIRECTV should be made aware of the situation so that they can properly address the issue with MAX.

So DirecTV doesn't monitor this forum? I posted here because I saw a post on an AT&T forum that has the same issue and the response was since the account is tied to DirecTV it should be posted here.

There are a few employees on here and the moderators but there is no official monitoring by DTV.

I was having the same issue, but to resolve it I had to log in with the @att.net log-in and password and it loaded with the same accounts/profiles as before with the DirecTV information. I hope this helps.

I am currently experiencing the same issues. I have gone in so many circles regarding this issue, there’s probably an energetic vortex of frustration circling the globe somewhere at this very moment. :/

Did you manage to get this resolved? I’m having a very similar issue and can’t figure out why it won’t let me into Max or Showtime
