Leaving after 26 years.
I've had Directv since the original Tivo boxes were an option. I just always paid the bill, never really paying attention until one of my kids saw the bill. My fault for not price checking them, didn't think I'd need to. Makes me sick to see what others are charging and getting compared to what I am paying and not getting. I'm not one to hagle over prices, in my Co we give the best price and that's what you get our best price. Enough on the matter, just have seen several complaints and thought I'd voice mine as well.

Yep everything has gone up. Look at gas prices as a prime example.
In the TV industry networks charge more and more over the years. So TV providers have to follow suit. Their costs go up, then eventually so do our bills.
Certainly go where it works best for you. Keep in mind that advertised pricing is normally the discounted intro price, and may not have additional fees added in as depends on your exact setup. So just don't plan on it being your long term cost, and certainly don't expect to get the "best" price forever. Those companies are not going to give away their service at a loss as they exist to make a profit.
Not trying to change your decision. Simply hoping the info means wherever you go that you start with a realistic perspective and don't have unrealistic expectations.
And certainly review what channels you actually use a lot. In my experience from talking with people (forum, friends, etc.) too many keep a higher package for a seldom watched channel or two because they fear of missing out or "losing" something (even though it really would be getting rid of higher cost).
