I just want to re-activate the traditional phone line

I have been a customer of direct tv for 15 years because of where I live in the country. I once had a traditional landline phone service but canceled it. I tried to turn it back on today and received the worst “support”. I was told they had to run a credit check but if it was rejected, I’d have to pay a $49 connection fee. I froze my credit as a security feature. So, they said I would have to un-freeze it, call them back and go through the process again … after waiting 30 min for a rep. I told them to just run it, get the rejection and let me pay the connection fee because it is too difficult to unfreeze, call them back, set up service, and have my credit frozen again. A disabled senior citizen should not have to go through this just to turn back on phone service because I have blood clots to the heart and need access to a phone since my cellular doesn’t work inside the house!!!! Direct TV must be led by Satan!

I'm puzzled. DirecTV has nothing to do with your landline phone service. DirecTV is a satellite TV provider. Perhaps you need to contact AT&T or whatever company provides your landline phone service.

It is part of a bundled package. I contacted Directv and they connected me to that department.
