How can I block channel 1998
My husband loves Two and a Half Men Seasons 1-8 which we have set to record. Newer recording override older recordings. Some of these new recording are Channel 1998 and are "Pay Per View". I don't want these pay episodes overriding our recorded episodes. STOP this insanity! Help Please!

You would have to go inside the Parental Controls of the receiver and set Locks & Limits I believe. What is the receiver model?

Thank you. I went into Menu, Setting, Parental Control, Channel Block, scrolled to 1998 and clicked on it. I hope it works. Thanks again.

Sounds good. Please keep me posted. I’d be interested to see if that fixed it.

This just started six months ago. Over the last two days I’ve deleted 300+ shows due to this. Sigh…

Agreed! I was recording channel to Yellowstone because it's filtered. All of a sudden I'm getting Yellowstone from Channel 1998 which claims it's TV 14 but it's in full force. Definitely rated r. And they charged me $2.99 per episode when I can get it for free

I blocked it and it still goes to that channel and now my receiver is glitching. Every time it tries to automatically go to channel 1998 and then gets stuck due to the channel block, my receiver starts literally blinking from whatever is on to a black screen and back and varying intervals. When I contact Directv about it, they want me to either pay for a service call because they continue to insist that the cycle I'm repeatedly seeing isn't real. I have to reset my receiver every time this happens to stop it from blinking. They should make it easier for customers to block/delete/disable this type of thing. I'm about to go to a streaming service or try cable for the first time in close to 30 years.
