Failed to validate billing address.
I figured I will give this a try as my last attempt at trying to start service with Directv. Just moved into a newly built home and I am trying to get service started. I have seen the Directv sales reps at my local Sam’s Club, so I figured I would try to go through them in order to receive the $250 gift card that they are offering. I go on the website to sign up and when I put in my billing address, I get the error “Failed to validate billing address.” I have chatted with several representatives to no avail. The last representative told me to call in this morning, which I did. The agent on the phone said that she was able to validate my address on her end. Tried again to go through the process and got the same error.
How do I get my address validated and added to the system so that I can order my service online and get the $250 gift card?
Thanks

Does your billing address match your credit/debit card address?

@nabukl I can’t even get that far in the checkout process, it asks for the billing address before you can even input payment information. But, yes this address does match my payment information.

First and foremost, stay away from the sellers in Sam's Club. Those are 3rd party retailers, most often owned by Smart Circle. Too often they will say anything to make a sale and at best provide misinformation on products and services as they are not directly trained by DirecTV. I would say the same for any in-person sales agent as DirecTV has no physical stores or such of their own. Even AT&T stores aren't employed on the DirecTV side so can be similar to the 3rd party they used to be before the acquisition.
Hopefully the official response you got to help by Direct Message (DM) will be able to sort this out. Address validation systems are not quick to update. I use one at my own job and with all the growth in my area, there are new addresses going back 2 years or so that don't show. But we get the option to override, so hopefully DirecTV has something similar even if must be done at a level above a front-line agent.
Whether orded from 3rd party or from DirecTV itself (highly preferred method), read through the order confirmation carefully before you are installed. That will be the one DirecTV emails you, which could differ from the hand filled in one from a 3rd party. Like other companies, DirecTV will only honor what is on their official order regardless of what an outside seller "promised" or wrote down.
And if that gift card is store specific, even if legitimate that would be an offer from the 3rd party above the DirecTV offer so DirecTV will have no knowledge of it. Some 3rd parties have such a special with the stores they lease/rent space out of. But always proceed with caution with any 3rd party seller.

Same apparent issue. When I put in my billing address, which is my home address -- and yes, it's a house, and it's valid -- it tries to force me to fill in the "optional" address2 field. Honestly, I'm about to walk away from the whole thing; if DirecTV can't get something right that's as important to their business model as creating an account, how bad is their tech on things that might consider less important but that might be important to me?
