Disconnecting Service

Direct TV has been overcharging customers for years and I finally had enough.  It is crazy to have to wait for the unsolicited phone call that offers you a deal to reduce your bill if you agree to stay with them.  So I called to disconnect my service today.  And I get another slap in the face.  I am paid through 2/29/2024.  I an canceling my account today, 2/14/2024.  And I am told that I will not receive a refund.  I ask well I'm paid through 2/29 and today is 2/14, I think I should be getting some type of refund on unused service.  No, that's not the way it works.  I am told "you are called today to request the service to be disconnected and we do that only at the end of the month".  Really?  That is horrible customer service yet again and Direct TV just taking the money with no recourse.  I hope there is another class action lawsuit based on this practice that I can sign up for.  Absolutely ridiculous.

DTV stopped prorating the final bill years ago, you pay for and receive service until the end of your billing cycle regardless of when you cancel.
