DIRECT TV STREAM
Hello, I was trying to update my payment for direct tv stream. There were technical issues on direct tv side. I had someone call me back stating they were a manager and saying I couldn’t have direct tv stream per the financial department. I inform the person I wanted a REAL manager because streaming services are prepaid not to mention I purchased the devices for streaming. So, how can I be denied services I’ve had since July 2024, and if I don’t pay by March 16th it will completely disconnected and I will be charged for the devices. I want to speak to someone who can fix the issue of updating my card because I no longer have that card number! This is ridiculous

What do you mean technical issues? What device were you using to update the payment? Have you tried another device?

The rep said it was an issue on direct tv side. They said they escalated the issue and when the rep called back stating she was a supervisor, she said I couldn’t have services which is not true because per my bank direct tried running my old card information on yesterday. I even asked the rep whose name was given as Erica stating she was with the management team, I asked for a reference or ticket number from the issue being escalated to her and she could not
provide that information. It’s actually kind of scary now that I’m thinking about it because this person said there was no contact to the financial department who told her this and per this manager she could not provide me any additional information on why I was said to be “denied” streaming services. When I asked about the direct tv devices I am paying for each month she start scrambling and unable to share information on that. I need this corrected asap, please. It should be this hard to update a card. I was on a call having a rep assistance with this and apparently they have no clue as to what is going on and spreading misinformation!

You did not answer my questions. I just checked my account and was able to modify my payment with a different card and then change it back. Exactly what is the issue you are having? Any error codes? Users are changing cards all day for the service and even subscribing to the service for the first time. Are you using a debit card or credit card?
Are you a DirecTV Stream subscriber or a DirecTV Via Internet subscriber. They are not the same service.

I am using a debit card. This was last week when I tried and was getting the error of experiencing an issue and please try again later. I then called the customer service and they sent me a link to add the information. I was told by the rep the card had been changed but the system was not updating to pull the information, pretty much. But I knew it wasn’t possible because the system was still trying to pull from the old card information as I was told that. I tried using my PayPal information and it wouldn’t update either at that time. So, I waited for the escalation team to call me as told by the CS rep. I honestly think there was miscommunication because it’s not satellite it streaming. I will try again to update the information and see what happens. But I’ve NEVER had this issue, but of course this is the first time I’ve had to change the card information.

Well, if you have a contract and have devices supplied by DirecTV, then you are a DirecTV subscriber (streaming DirecTV Satellite Via the Internet option not with a dish). DirecTV Stream (this forum) has no contract or fees and the device is not available for the DirecTV Stream. Your service is DirecTV, not DirecTV Stream.
