Change in Service Dispute

Hi,

I need to bring this issue to your attention please.

I have been a customer of Direct TV for more than two years.

 

On 10/6/2022, I called and upgraded my plan to have more channel packages that included Sports, MSG, Animal Planet, NAT Geo Wild, etc.

It turns out the next day (10/7), I was not getting any of these channels that I upgraded to. I called and talked with one of your Rep who now worked me through to reset the DVR.

 

Upon reset, I was still not getting the desired channels. Even the Knicks game I wanted to watch was blocked out. When I took the package, I was told, this will not happen since I am paying for the selected channels.

I was not happy about this and I decided to cancel on 10/7/2022.

 

I requested a Print Label so that I can ship the units back to Direct TV, I was rather asked to take the box to FedEx address at 1155 North 9th Street Stroudsburg, PA 18360.

I went to the FedEx location with Direct TV account number as instructed, only to be told they do not handle such transaction for Direct TV any longer.

 

I called to complain about this and I was promised a shipping label will be mailed to my home address. Till date, I have not received any.

 

On 10/17/2022, I called again and requested to speak to the supervisor/manager, I was told the supervisor/manager were in a meeting. I was given the assurance one of them will call me back within two hours which never happened. I was also promised the effective date of my cancellation is 10/7/2022 and whatever refund due to me will be send to me with the label within 7 business day.

 

I received the below email stating my disconnect date is 10/17/2022 – the last time I spoke to Direct TV rep.

 

My point of writing is this:

  1. I have been lied to during my channel package upgrades – what I ordered where not available to me.
  2. I made it clear that I want my service disconnected on 10/7/2022 and I was told it will be done which became a lie.
  3. I was told the supervisor/manager will call me back in two hours which became a lie.
  4. I was given the wrong information to take the Direct TV DVR box to FedEx when FedEx no longer service you. This is another lie.
  5. I was promised of refund but came to realized my services is still active till 10/22/2022 when the billing cycle ends.
  6. I stopped using Direct TV services on 10/7/2022. Why would Direct TV leave service active when it should be disconnected and refund or prorated amount charged to the account.

 

Please it will be my delight if you can look into this issue before I go public on this.
