Cannot file protection plan claim online

I have the protection plan premier and I'm trying to file a claim online here: https://protection.asurion.com/directv/en-us/.  I recently had throat surgery so I cannot call and do it.  It will not let me get past the very first step of entering my phone number to receive a code.  They never send the code.  I've been trying for days.  There's no email on the site or I'd email them.

Next I tried the chat option on that website and it always tells me chat is not available and to call.  I cannot call!

What do I need to do to file a claim?  I thought we were supposed to be able to file claims online.

OK I just went to the main Asurion website and logged in through their AT&T portal.  They're trying to tell me that there is no protection plan on my account.

I've had the Premier protection plan for close to 20 years.

What is going on?  Can anyone help me fill out a claim online?

@shannon02 I know TPG apparently owns DirecTV now but TPG is not an option on the Asurion website.  What else am I supposed to choose besides AT&T?

@litzdog911 Unfortunately, I do not have any family or friends left to help me with anything.  I'm on my own.

So there's no way to do this online??

It is up to Asurion to provide a link for TPG or DTV so unless you can email/contact Asurion directly or DirecTvhelp has a way to contact them and sends you a DM/PM or you can contact DirecTv help using one of DTVs social media websites.

@shannon02 Asurion does not have an email support option and their chat option only says to call them. It's useless.  Are there any actual DirecTV employees here who can provide an email address to Asurion support or help me file a claim?  I don't use social media. I'm gonna try DirecTV's chat option and see where that goes since they don't have an email support option either.

@Juniper That's the same link that's in my first post.  That should be the link that I need but it doesn't work.  The very first step is entering your phone number so they can send you a code but I've been trying daily for nearly a week and I've yet to receive a code.  Short code messages are enabled on my device so I know it's not my phone or carrier  blocking the code. They have no email option and their chat option only says to call which I cannot do.

I chatted with DTV but that person gave me a dead email that was immediately returned for Asurion.  I can't believe it's this difficult to simply file a claim online.  This is ridiculous.

Asurion AI chat bot seems to work and they have stores or use their social media pages.

@Juniper NP. I do wish DTV would get with Asurion to fix this because right now there is no way for DTV customers to file a claim on their website. Before, the option was to click AT&T, but if you click that now it's only for their cell phone business since TPG bought them out.  There's no option for DTV customers at all since AT&T sold it.  Speaking of, you may want to remove the AT&T number and website from your signature since DTV is not owned by AT&T anymore.  Or is it finalized yet? I dunno.

@shannon02 Yeah, I've tried the AI chat a couple times when it didn't immediately tell me to call instead.  It seems like it works OK, answering basic questions, until it gets to the point where you want to start a new claim then it just directs you right back to their home page.  They don't have any stores within a couple hours from me. I looked yesterday at that for locations in my state.  I don't use any social media.  Honestly this whole ordeal is a giant joke.  There's no way it should be this difficult for someone who can't speak to file a claim.  They're begging for a lawsuit under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Because of the transition I have left the contact info for reference. Mergers and ownership changes have their challenges. I will be updating it in the near future.

Though an acquisition has their challenges, I really hope TPG's goes much smoother than it did when AT&T acquired DirecTV.

Since I didn't know the plan name that is as far as I could go with the chat bot after selecting new claim.
