Cancel service problem

Trying to cancel service and have a past due balance. I've called the correct number and ask the recording to cancel and get sent to another department.  The recording says unable to help until payment is made. How can I get this cancel so it quits increasing past due balance? I have to work out payment plan for past due as well. Thanks for any help

You can't cancel with a past due account, you need to call them.  DTVhelp may send you a PM/DM.

Canceled accounts do not qualify for a payment arrangement.

Over the phone or through your account online you can see about setting a payment arrangement. This can only be done if you are past due but service isn't interrupted yet as once shut off for past due you must pay the entire balance. A payment arrangement only pushes back the interruption date. It does not prevent late fees or allow you to setup a payment plan to do so over time.
