Can not get paperless bill
I have been a Direct TV satellite customer since May 24 and have never received a paperless bill by email. In the first month I received a paper letter in the mailbox from them stating that my email would not go through and requesting that I sign in to my online account and correct my email address. They quoted the email address they were trying to use and I have never seen nor heard of that address. I checked my online emails contact information and it was correct.
I called customer service about this issue and was told to disregard the letter. After a couple of months and still no email bill, I changed my online email contact to the alternate or back-up email address that gmail had been encouraging me to create, thinking that would trigger DTV to update my information. I still receive no email bill but do get frequent promotional emails at the alternate address about sports packages and such.
I can of course sign into my account and review my package costs but it is not convenient to read and does not seem to update before they actually charge my credit card.
I find it ironic that a company that can beam TV from space can not send an email bill in the same manner that my local gas and electric company does. I would like to get this fixed.

You may need to log into your DirecTV account and opt out of paperless and then go back in later to set it up. Be aware this will be a notice the bill is ready to be viewed online, not the full bill itself in the email. My understanding is many companies changed this about paperless billing to be more secure about the info.

Just in case the official team cannot resolve this through DM.
Autopay by card goes through day 2 of your bill cycle, the same day the paper bill is supposed to produce and mail out. The electronic version of the bill is usually available 1-2 days after that. So correct, you don't see the electric version before the payment has been submitted.
